Import & export
Takt can import Markdown and plain text files, and export notes as Markdown, Word, PDF, or a Markdown ZIP.
Importing Markdown & text
From Settings → Data & integrations you can import:
- Markdown vaults / folders — pick a folder root and Takt imports every
.md/.txtfile inside it. Takt, Obsidian, and Apple-style Markdown structures are supported. Relative attachment links (including anAttachments/folder) are matched and stored. - A previous Takt export (
.zip) — re-imports the Markdown notes inside.
Note files are .md and .txt. When YAML
frontmatter is present, Takt parses tags,
created, modified, is_task,
is_done, deadline, reminder, and
tag_reminders.
Exporting a single note
From any note's menu you can copy the note as formatted text or as plain
Markdown, or export it as a Markdown (.md),
Word (.docx), or PDF file.
PDF export hands the note to your browser's print engine, so choose Save as PDF as the destination in the print dialog that opens. The result is a normal text PDF — you can select, search and copy the text, and a long note is a few hundred kilobytes rather than tens of megabytes.
Exporting the library
From the settings page, run a full export. Takt produces a single ZIP containing:
- One Markdown file per note
- Optional YAML frontmatter with metadata (created, modified, tags, deadline, reminder, task state)
- An
Attachments/folder with referenced files and rendered drawings when attachment export is enabled
What's in the frontmatter
created | ISO timestamp the note was created |
modified | ISO timestamp of the last edit |
tags | List of tags including nested branches |
is_task | Whether this item is a task |
is_done | (tasks) Whether the task is completed |
deadline | (tasks) Due date |
reminder | Reminder date |
tag_reminders | Per-tag reminder dates, when set |
Batch download
From any list view, select notes and use the batch download dialog to save them as a single ZIP — as Markdown, Word, or PDF files.
